About Us

The ASCE Golden Gate Branch (GGB) is a professional civil engineering organization under ASCE Region 9 – San Francisco Section, which serves the Counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Solano. The branch was formed in 1971 and is the second largest in California with a current active membership of 3,524.

GGB hosts monthly dinner meetings that include presentations on a variety of local infrastructure projects, innovative products and materials, emerging technologies, and discussions on important topics affecting the community.

The goal of GGB is to promote the civil engineering profession, develop civil engineering leaders, advocate infrastructure and environmental stewardship, and provide opportunities for professional networking. The Branch also does outreach to local schools to generate interest in the civil engineering field, as well as to local universities to help connect graduates to working professionals.
