OUTREACH  COMMITTEE CHAIR

Mr. Sai Murali Sriramineni is a distinguished civil engineer specializing in construction safety research, public infrastructure construction management, infrastructure resilience, and public works safety. He is a licensed Construction Manager (State of Idaho), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C and O+M), USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certified, and OSHA Authorized Construction Industry Outreach Trainer for 10-hour and 30-hour construction safety courses. He has made significant contributions to public infrastructure projects across California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, and Michigan.

Currently serving as a Transportation Civil Engineer – Area Safety Coordinator at the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 4 office in Oakland, CA, Mr. Sriramineni’s work is centered on applied research aimed at enhancing construction safety practices and advancing public safety objectives. In collaboration with the Division of Construction, he systematically investigates, develops, and implements innovative safety products, services, and operational processes that align with federal, state, and local safety and health laws and regulations, including Federal OSHA regulations, Cal/OSHA regulations, FHWA regulations, the Federal MUTCD, the California MUTCD, and the California Code of Regulations (CCR).
As part of his research-driven responsibilities, Mr. Sriramineni provides safety training, conducts field safety documentation audits, performs project site safety compliance inspections, and reviews sites with higher rates of safety incidents. His work contributes directly to the continuous improvement of Caltrans’ Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), helping reduce incidents and enhancing the overall effectiveness of construction safety programs. His investigations focus on refining safety criteria, evaluating compliance standards, and advancing safety-related technological applications used across Caltrans projects.

Before joining Caltrans, Mr. Sriramineni served as a field civil engineer for 6 years on major public works and transportation projects for NJ Transit, Amtrak, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC), New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the City of Detroit Department of Public Works, and various public agencies across New Jersey. In each role, he applied research-based safety and construction management practices to promote public safety and strengthen critical infrastructure systems. In 2025, Mr. Sriramineni represented the ASCE Golden Gate Branch as a Head Judge at the ASCE Mid-Pacific Symposium hosted by the University of California, Berkeley, where he evaluated and analyzed civil engineering student technical papers submitted for the MEAD competition by universities across the United States and China.

As an advocate for research-driven civil engineering, Mr. Sriramineni actively mentors STEM students and early-career STEM professionals through ACE Mentoring sessions and virtual outreach, promoting careers focused on public safety, civil engineering, construction management, and infrastructure development. In his volunteer role as Outreach Committee Chair for the ASCE Golden Gate Branch, he collaborates with Bay Area universities and colleges to advance research-driven education and professional opportunities. He is also actively seeking volunteer opportunities with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) across the United States to further contribute his expertise to civil engineering, infrastructure construction management, and safety-focused public works initiatives.

Through his technical expertise, leadership in applied research, and dedication to community service, Mr. Sriramineni continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of civil engineering, public safety, and infrastructure innovation across the United States.

Finance Committee Purpose

The purpose of our Finance Committee is responsible for overseeing the financial health, integrity, and effectiveness of our organization. We ensure the proper allocation of the annual budget to balance member benefits with program objectives. By closely monitoring expenses, we ensure that membership dues support the organization’s growth. Additionally, the Finance Committee will streamline the Gateway Payment System on the Golden Gate Branch website for event registration, provide detailed monthly financial reports and annual statements, and lead fundraising efforts for special events and scholarships.

Program Committee Goals

  1. ASCE GGB aims to sponsor programs for local students and young engineers by investing in social and technical events, as well as scholarships, to build competency and engagement.
  2. ASCE GGB continues to grow its membership by demonstrating accountability and transparency in managing income and expenses.

FINANCE COMMITTEE CHAIR

Mr. Raymond Chu is the Finance Committee Chair in the ASCE Golden Gate Branch. He also currently serves as Vice President and Treasurer for the ASCE San Francisco Section Younger Member Forum (SF YMF). His previously served as Professional Development Chair and Treasurer for SF YMF.

Raymond’s involvement with ASCE began in 2018 at the UC San Diego Student Chapter. His notable appointments at the student chapter included Project Manager for the 2021 Steel Bridge Project Team and Symposium Chair for the 2022 ASCE Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS). These two appointments were significant because 2021 year was the first year that the team competed in a supplemental competition and PSWS 2022 was the first in-person ASCE student symposium in two years – both due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Raymond Chu earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, San Diego and a Master of Science from the University of California, Berkeley – both in structural engineering. He is currently a structural engineer in the Civil Structures team at Kairos Power, an advanced nuclear engineering startup headquartered in Alameda, CA. He uses his knowledge and training in structural engineering to enable the world’s transition to clean energy.
